Erasmus+ Incoming Students

Nomination

If you are interested in spending an mobility period at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Pisa within the Erasmus+ Programme, you should first contact the International Office / Study Abroad Office at your home institution. To be admitted to the Department of Computer Science as an exchange student, you must first be officially nominated by your home institution, which should send the nomination to erasmus@di.unipi.it. A nomination is possible only if there is a bilateral agreement currently in force between your home institution and the Department of Computer Science in your field of studies.

Deadline for nomination

  • for the Autumn semester or Full Academic Year: 1 July.
  • for the Spring semester: 1 November.

Only students nominated before the corresponding deadline will be allowed to complete the online application.

Once you are nominated by your home institution, the Mobility Team of the Department of Computer Science will contact you by email with further instructions on how to apply as an exchange student.

Create Your Learning Agreement

The University of Pisa applies the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). One semester of full-time studies corresponds to 30 credits.

Bachelor’s courses are held in Italian, Master’s courses are held in English. You can find a description of the programmes offered by the Department of Computer Science on the Programmes on Offer  page, and on the Description of Courses page you can find direct links to the list of courses offered by each programme.

The timetable of the courses will be available approximately one month before the beginning of the semester, but it is subject to last-minute changes.

As a rule, you can choose courses at your level of study (Bachelor’s or Master’s), but in well-justified cases this rule can be waived. You must fulfil the eligibility requirements for individual courses: check carefully whether you meet the requirements listed on each course page, if any.

You may also choose courses offered by Degree Programmes of other Departments of the University of Pisa (for example, Computer Engineering), but at least one course must belong to a Degree Programme of the Department of Computer Science.

Once the “Before the mobility” Learning Agreement is ready and has been signed both by the student and by the coordinator of their home institution, it must be sent to erasmus@di.unipi.it for approval.

Thesis/Traineeship

In order to carry out a thesis or traineeship at the Department of Computer Science, you must find a supervisor among the lecturers of the Department. The supervisor must send an email to erasmus@di.unipi.it to confirm their approval.
