Undergraduate study programme in Digital Humanities
The study programme in Digital Humanities is managed by the Department of Phylology, Literature and Linguistics. Launched in 2002 and still unique in Italy, the programme stemed from an interdisciplinary cultural project between the former Faculty of Literature and Philosophy and the former Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences.
On the one hand, students acquire a solid basic culture in the literary, linguistic, philological, historical, geographical and artistic fields; on the other hand they learn to master the tools and technologies for the computer processing of languages, texts, images and in general cultural content. Relevant professional profiles include, for example, Content Manager and Web Developer or that of Language Technologist.
Graduate study programme in Digital Humanities
The Master’s Degree programme in Digital Humanities is managed by the Department of Phylology, Literature and Linguistics. The programme is designed to facilitate as much as possible the access of students who have received undergraduate training in computer science or humanities, while maintaining an adequate level of specialization, closely linked to existing research activities at the departments of the University of Pisa and other research centers in the surrounding area.
In order to guide students, the master’s learning programme is organized into four training courses, which correspond to well-characterized and emerging professional profiles: Electronic publishing; Graphics, Interactivity, Virtual Environments; Knowledge Management; and Language Technologies.
Graduate study programme in Cybersecurity
The Master’s Degree programme in Cybersecurity is managed by the Department of Information Engineering and is entirely taught in English. The programme has been activated in the academic year 2020/21 to respond to the growing need for specialists with strong scientific and technological skills in the field of cybersecurity. To this end, it provides its graduates with a deep knowledge of the scientific foundations, methodologies and technologies relevant to the field, which allows them to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and to address cybersecurity challenges across a wide range of application domains.
The main professional profiles associated with the programme include Designer of secure IT systems and applications, IT Security Researcher, and IT Security Specialist.
