The traineeship is a training period carried out at a company or institution, designed to integrate academic study with practical work experience. It offers students a direct introduction to the world of work as part of their educational path.
Curricular traineeships
- They are aimed at students enrolled in degree programmes, master’s programmes, and PhD programmes.
- They are included in the study plans and take place during the regular course attendance period, even if they do not directly depend on the awarding of academic credits. Internships carried out for the purpose of preparing the thesis are therefore considered curricular.
- They are regulated, regarding eligibility requirements, duration, and possible credit recognition, by the rules of each individual degree programme and by the University’s regulations, in accordance with national legislation (Legge n. 142 of March 25, 1998).

Non-curricular traineeship
- They are intended for recent graduates who obtained their degree no more than 12 months ago.
- Their administrative management is handled by the University’s “Campus and services”.
