As provided by the University Academic Regulations, Article 27 and Article 23, paragraph 9, two extraordinary exam sessions are reserved for the following categories of students:
- Working students (According to the resolution of the Academic Senate dated 27/1/2022, no. 8/2022, an official interpretation of Article 27, paragraph 2, of the University Academic Regulations has been approved, which includes students undertaking non-curricular internships among the category of working students);

Students who have been enrolled for a number of years exceeding the standard duration of their degree programme (“fuori corso”); for example, a student enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree programme in the academic year 2020/21 is considered fuori corso starting from the payment of the first instalment for a.y. 2023/24, and is therefore eligible to take the extraordinary exam session in November 2023;

Parents with children under the age of eight;

Students on maternity leave;

Students enrolled in transitional single courses;

Students re-enrolled after withdrawal or loss of student status, with a new student ID number (see Art. 30 of the University Academic Regulations)
To take part in the extraordinary exam sessions, working students, parents with children under the age of eight, students on maternity leave, students enrolled in transitional single courses, and students who have re-enrolled after withdrawal or loss of student status must submit a declaration stating that they belong to one of the above categories:

From 1 September to 19 October (according to the 2025/26 academic calendar) for the first extraordinary session (download the form: .doc, .pdf)

From 1 February to 28 February (according to the 2025/26 academic calendar) for the second extraordinary session (download the form: .doc, .pdf)

“Fuori corso” students are not required to submit any forms.

All students must register for the exam sessions (by visiting the Exam Sessions and Intermediate Assessments page for the listed courses, and by contacting the instructors directly for any other courses),
explicitly indicating in the registration notes their intention to take part in the extraordinary session (appello straordinario):-
no later than two working weeks before the start of the exam session.
