The State Examination for Professional Qualification grants access to the Italian Order of Engineers, enabling candidates to legally practise the profession in Italy.
The State Examination takes place twice a year, according to a schedule set by an ordinance of the Ministry of Education, University and Research.

Admission Qualifications – Engineering Profession, Section A
The Section A qualification exam is divided into three areas:
a) Civil and Environmental Engineering
b) Industrial Engineering
c) Information Engineering
Candidates must take the exam in the area corresponding to their degree.
For the Information Engineering sector (c):
A second-level specialised degree in one of the following classes:
Classe 23/S o LM-18 – Informatica

Class 23/S – Informatica;
or a Master’s Degree in:
-
LM-18 Informatica
-
LM-66 Cybersecurity

The Section B qualification exam is divided into three areas:
a) Civil and Environmental Engineering
b) Industrial Engineering
c) Information Engineering
Candidates must take the exam in the area corresponding to their degree.
For the Information Engineering sector (c):
Il candidato deve sostenere l’esame per il Settore a cui afferisce il suo titolo di studio.

First-level degree (Bachelor’s) in the following class:

- L-31 – Informatica
